LITERATURE Basilea Schlink, co-founder of the Evangelical Sisterhood of Mary in Darmstadt, Germany, wrote over 200 books, many of which have translated into over 40 different languages. Five of these have now been translated into Albanian by Holger Dashi, a gifted translator and pastor of the evangelical church in Libonik/Maliq outside Korca, Albania. Two more books are currently being translated, 'Realities, the miracles of God today' by Holger Dashi, and 'Bride of Jesus Christ' by Fatjon Kadi in Fier, who met up with the Sisters whilst studying in Sweden. Books: Praying our way through life (Lutja pėrmes rrugės sė jetės) More precious than gold (Shume mė i ēmuar se ari) Repentance, the joy-filled life (Pendimi, jeta e mbusher me gėzim) The Christian's victory - how to overcome your sin (Ja si te ndryshojme) The hidden treasure in suffering (Thesari) Leaflets: Three words that can change everything (Tri fjalė qė ndryshojnė gjithshka) He replies when I call (Ai pėrgjigjet kur unė e thėrras) Bookmarks: Various Our involvement in the publication of these books in Albanian came about through the reading of Basilea's book, "Realities, the miracles of God experienced today." On one of our early trips on the way home we called at their headquarters, known as Kanaan, and received an amazing welcome. They told us they were printing their first Albanian leaflets at that time, and that they had been praying about how they could get a parcel to Britain when we arrived! On a subsequent visit they asked us if we knew of a translator and we put them in touch with Holger Dashi. Since then we have ferried the translations and proofs back and forth, and then ultimately the books themselves. These books are speaking very directly to the hearts of Albanians and are proving an immense blessing to those who receive them. STOP PRESS! We have just heard that the latest, long awaited new book will be available for us to pick up on our next trip to Albania in November 2008! Praise the Lord! |
