FAMILY
From 0 to 5, in less than 28 months! Grandchildren, that is! And, Yes, they are... 'Grand' children!
If you want to find out more about the family, read on...
Who are they?
There's us, Mark & Ann, but don't be too frightened by the photo at the top, we weren't looking our best, or maybe we were - and they say the camera never lies!
Dan & Jo live in Pennsylvania, USA, having both graduated with PhDs from Penn State University (PSU). Dan teaches Sport Science at PSU Berks campus, and Jo joined him there in the Applied Pyschology department in September 2006. They have a dog named Dakota (a dead-ringer for ScoobyDoo!) who they have trained to be a Search & Rescue dog. They have another 2 members of the family... Owen and Seren
Owen Daniel was born on August 2nd 2006 at 10.54 am, weighing 7lb 2oz, and 20 ins long.
Seren Reneé was born on November 7th 2008 at 3.18 am, 8lb 4oz, and 20 ins long
Mariana was born on June 27th 2007 at 07.20 am, weighing 6lb 9oz.
Nik & Rozanna live in Bury St Edmunds (UK!). Nik did a Civil Engineering Technician's course at the Construction Industry Training Board's college at Bircham Newton, Norfolk, then switched to Building Construction and went to Liverpool John Moores University. He is currently working as a Steel fixer mainly in the East Anglia area. Rozanna is a homemaker and full-time mother. They moved into a lovely bungalow, with a huge back garden, in a picturesque village, the day before their daughter arrived! However, two years later, with another baby on the way, they moved into a bigger house, again with a decent size garden, very close to the centre of Bury St Edmunds, just in time for the arrival of their second daughter.
Alexia (Lexi) Louise was born on July 21st 2006 at 10.44 pm, weighing 7lb 15oz.
Emilia (Millie) Mai was born on July 17th 2008 at 11.02 am, weighing 8lb 9oz.
Oops! Almost forgot a most important member of the family, our "daughter" Becky! She joined the family on Christmas Eve 1998, a surprise Christmas present for Ann from Nik. She was a rescued dog, like Dakota, and was about to be put down, and was rescued again in the nick of time by Nik. She's a very friendly, affectionate border collie, but is definitely Ann's dog!
Ann's mum, Evelyn, otherwise known as Nana, went home to be with the Lord on the 19th March 2009, at 93 years of age, after nearly 4 years at High Pastures Nursing Home, Deganwy, following a stroke whilst she was living with us, and a period of hospitalisation. A Thanksgiving Service for her life was held on Saturday 30th May 2009 at her former church, Oaklea Chapel, Whaley Lane, Irby, Wirral, which was a fitting memorial to Evelyn, and greatly glorifying to God..
Mark's dad, Bernard, lost his "beloved" Peggy in 1998 after 57 years of marriage. At the end of 2003 he went into Emmanuel Nursing Home in Birkenhead (Andrew, Mark's brother, and his wife, Anne, living just a couple of roads away) where he settled well. After a short illness in hospital, he slipped quietly away into the presence of His Lord on March 4th, 2005. A wonderful Thanksgiving Service was held on March 11th at Bethesda Church, Bebington.
