A 'Certified Public Accountant'?
No, the 'Christian Police Association'! Amazingly it's been in existence since 1883, started by a woman, Catherine Gurney, who had been talking to a policeman about spiritual matters and his response had been, "What, do you think a policeman has a soul?!"
There are branches in the majority of the 53 British forces, and for 13 years I was Branch Secretary for Merseyside. The aims of CPA are:
To promote and foster the fellowship of Christians in the Police Service in that unity which is enjoyed by those who are born again by the Spirit of God; To demonstrate this relationship to God in a concern for righteousness both on and off duty; and To obey Christ in proclaiming His gospel, especially to members of the Police Service that they might be brought to know Him personally.
Through CPA I have friends all over the UK and indeed abroad, as it is a national movement linked with similar national organisations in a growing number of countries across the world.
