Why Conwy?
Well, that's where I've lived for the last 14 years, in one of the most beautiful parts of God's creation. We didn't come here because of that, but we soon realised it was. I reckoned it was something to do with the hills and the water together, and thought that was original until I found out that Wordsworth had written a poem about it!
Although it hasn't worked out as we had planned when we came, nor has it been easy, it has been good nevertheless.
The taking of the A55 Expressway under the Conwy estuary has made a tremendous difference to the town itself, and although not as busy with through vehicles as it once was, we have tourists visiting right through the year.
There are two medieval fairs held in the town each year, the Seed Fair in March and the Honey Fair in September, when the High Street is closed to traffic for the day and folk set up stalls there and on Lancaster Square. For several years now we have set up a table with the aim of being a Christian presence on the street during the fairs. We don't sell anything, but rather give away seeds and honey as a token of God's free love, along with an appropriate tract outlining the Good News of Jesus Christ.
Just after Easter 2008 we moved to the centre of Colwyn Bay, into the caretaker's house belonging to Horeb Church. We are excited as the Lord reveals His purposes step by step for bringing us here.
If you want to know more about the area, which is full of things to see and do, take a look at a couple of our local websites:
